For several days, Demaras Racing has been reporting on the increase in street racing, speeding and stunt driving in Ontario. As racers, we understand the need for speed. We understand the race tracks are closed … but this next story is too much!

Police say they nabbed a driver doing 205 km/h in a 40 km/h zone. The South Simcoe Police didn’t name the 23-year-old Brampton man who has now entered a world of problems after going more than five times the speed limit!

The speeder was caught just before 6:00 pm on Thursday near Hwy 400 and Hwy 89. Making matters even worse, the driver was caught in front of Cookstown Public School, which is a designated community safety zone! Apparently the driver simply dtopped at a red light down the streetwhere he was approached by the local constabulary. The vehicle was towed away and impounded, the driver’s got a seven-day licence suspension, was charged with speeding and stunt driving, and will face a stunning fine factoring in the community safety zone muliplier.
