With 10 days between races, the Demaras Auto Racing Team is enjoying a week long Racing Movie Marathon. With titles such as the Sylvester Stallone’s 2001 film Driven, the 2011 psychodrama Drive, the 1975 political satire Death Race 2000, the Movie Marathon is shaping up.

Tonight’s screening was the 1990 Tom Cruise classic, Days of Thunder. Twelve year-old Daniel is too young to remember this movie, but Chris clearly remembers the fluorescent yellow and green City Chevrolet driven by Cole Trickle.
Apparently, Days of Thunder had a big impact on many young race car drivers. The clip below shows 2014 Indy 500 starter (and 2004 Nascar champion) Kurt Busch driving his Days of Thunder painted car, while delivering movie lines during the 2013 Firecracker 250.
Just listen for Busch’s crew chief deliver the classic line “No, no, he didn’t slam you, he didn’t bump you, he didn’t nudge you… he rubbed you. And rubbin, son, is racin’.”
