6/3/1980: Go-kart racing is growing so rapidly as a sport, that Family Kartways on Highway 12 in Whitby has built a new track for practice sessions. People who own their own karts will use the purpose built North track. Drivers wear helmets and leather suits because of the high speeds their powerful racing machines can attain.
