Mercedes has focused one of its Formula 1 factories into a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) manufacturing facility. The Formula 1 teams has the knowledge and resources to tackle the virus that has put a great amount of strain on the emergency services around the world.
Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains in Brixworth, UK, to produce up to 1,000 of the breathing aids per day. Forty machines that would normally produce F1 pistons and turbochargers are being used for production of the CPAP devices.
