Back in November, Daniel had several opportunities to test the Vallis Motor Sport’s black and red BRD FV1200. Looking at the race car now, as it sits in the VMS shop, it’s unrecognizable. But this is a good thing.

To prepare for the 2022 Canadian Formula 1200 Championship, the car is being rebuilt.. Refreshed engine, transmission, suspension components and a fresh set of Falken 14″ tires will have the car up to speed for the start of the season.

Under the skin, the steel spaceframe is visible, and it’s difficult to believe that that this car has been racing yearly since it’s manufacture in 1999. F1200 is one of the few cost-effective open-wheel racing series still racing today, nearly 60 years since the formula’s introduction.

With the body now delivered to Taylor Lawson (Taylord Designs) the car will also have a new look for the new season. Stay tuned…
