For the first time in over a month, Demaras Racing ventured east to HIP Motorsports in Ajax to meet up with Jim and John for some training. With this weekend’s Canadian Touring Trophy race quickly approaching, and nearly three weeks out of the race car, this would give Daniel the perfect opportunity to shake off any rust nd get back in the groove.
Preparing for the third race at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, Daniel immersed himself in iRacing on the continuous rotation simulator. This tool helped him prepare for the start of the season, and his skills have improved significantly since then.
You never know who you’re going to bump into at HIP Motorsports. This time it was Dave Goodridge and his VLR Masters Championship winning son Cayden Goodridge, our old teammates from New Speed Motorsports. It’s been a year since our families have been together, and it was great racing with them again…even virtually.
After two hours in the Force Dynamics simulator, and after saying goodbye to the Goodridges, Coach Venditti cued up the Vintage Grand Prix, to help analyze Daniel’s performance in the No. 12 car.
With open-wheel practice scheduled to begin at 9:45am, it’s an ealy end to the evening, with time overnight to consider the sage advice of wise old Coach Venditti.
