Nathan Wilkie started from pole position, and endured constant pressure from 2021 National Karting Champion, Logan Ploder, to take victory in the ‘SO, YOU WANNA BE A RACE CAR DRIVER?’ electric indoor go-kart race at K1 Speed on Sunday November 27 2022.

The Grand Prize prize for the win against such tough competitors is the opportunity to drive the No. 12 / Vallis Motor Sport / Formula 1200 race car at Toronto Motor Sports Park in Cayuga, early in spring 2023. Nathan’s mom Rae looks very comfortable behind the wheel of the race car too!

Nathan Wilkie started his karting career at Grand Prix Kartways back in 2011. He quickly progressed to competitive kart racing in 2012 and accumulated over 150 podium finishes. Wilkie won multiple Series Championships across various Ontario race tracks. Most recently, he was crowned the 2022 K1 Speed Mississauga GP Challenge Champion, and is looking forward to participating in the K1 Canadian Championships in early 2023.

But driving an open-wheel race car with a transmission, suspension, and 500% more horsepower will be a new challenge for the young racer. The entire Formula 1200 paddock looks forward to seeing Wilkie at Cayuga in the spring.

CONGRATULATIONS, NATHAN WILKIE!
