This weekend in Illinois, the Great Carbondale Pumpkin Race was set for Saturday, October 28th 2023. For those who don’t know, the race is like a Halloween themed pinewood derby, where pumpkin-mobiles gravity race to a $100 prize.
There are tight rules around number of axles and types of wheels allowed in the competition. Pumpkins caught cheating are subject to public destruction by the Mallet-O-Justice!!
It’s $10 to enter and all donations for this year’s event went to the local Science Center.
