To celebrate the Christmas season, the family truck was all decked-out in lights, garland and a wreath this weekend. It’s not exactly a traditional Christmas truck, but it still looks seasonal.

Could use more lights, though. Luckily there’s still a week to go.

We don’t go all-out on Christmas decorations. A string of lights, a big inflatable Santa. Just normal front yard stuff. But the family vehicle being part of the decorations is a nice touch. You definitely know you’re dealing with gearheads.

December has been so mild, we decided to make another trip to the drive-in theatre. It’s such a family favourite; a movie and a car show all rolled into one. The folks at the 5 Drive-In have been pretty good about playing special, seasonal movies, like ‘Die Hard‘ over on screen three. But this weekend they paired up a new release ‘Wonka’ with National Lampoon’s 1989 classic ‘Christmas Vacation‘.

Now that I think about it, our truck definitely needed more lights.

Who knew that drive-in movie theatres were even open in late December. Maybe in southern California, but definitely not in southern Ontario! Hopefully this will be the start of a new family tradition.
