Every other member of Team Penske was disqualified from the first race of the IndyCar season, except Will Power. A technical infraction (a cheat code) on the Penske cars gave them the ability to use the turbo-boosting ‘Push 2 Pass’ during start/restart when the button is de-activated by series officials.

No. 2 Newgarden was stripped of his win and No. 22 McLaughlin was booted off the podium. But Will Power, who’s car had the same ‘cheat code’ activated, was actually moved up to second place from his original finishing position of fourth because he showed the integrity to follow the rules and not cheat.

Although Power had the ability to gain an unfair advantage, he didn’t use it. We call that WILL POWER.
GOOD FOR HIM. This story warms my poor bedraggled heart.
Will Power has always been our favourite driver. This story just confirms what a good role model he is.

Here’s Power with an impressionable young fan in 2016.

love it. Will Power is one of my favorites now, thanks to you.
And much as it seems like a ‘stage name’ he was born William Power…for reals.
