Since 2019, the Demaras Racing family has supported philanthropic organizations in Toronto with everything from our food drives to charity go-kart races. Each year we select a new charity to focus our initiatives towards.

We are proud to announce that during the 2024 racing season, we will be supporting SickKids Hospital.

We’ve teamed up with Can-Jam Motorsports and the Canadian Sport Compact Series (CSCS) to host the GEARHEADS GIVING BACK fundraiser. For a $20 donation, you’ll be entered into a promotional draw to win a thrill ride in the No. 12 Can-Jam Motorsports Formula 1200 race car. That’s right! One randomly selected donor will win the chance to turn laps in an open-wheel race car at Toronto Motorsports Park this October.

Racers and car enthusiasts are some of the most generous people you will ever meet, always willing to help at the track or the street. That’s why we’ve set a lofty goal of $12,000 in donations. Together, we can help SickKids Hospital diagnose faster, treat smarter, and predict better. Fighting for the health and wellbeing of children is one of the most powerful ways to improve society.

We’ll have the No. 12 Can-Jam Motorsports Formula 1200 race car on display at the Mosport DDT during Round 1 of the CSCS Canadian Sport Compact Series on Sunday, May 26, 2024. Come check out the Subaru WRC-inspired livery on this open-wheel race car, and watch the Indianapolis 500 under the canopy with us. Promotional draw tickets will be available at the track.

If you would like to donate to the GEARHEADS GIVING BACK fundraiser, but can’t make it to the Mosport DDT next Sunday, just click the link below and donate directly on the SickKids Foundation website.

    1. Racing is a spectator sport, right? Lots of people follow it online and on TV. So, we just figured it makes sense to use the exposure to draw attention to a charity. What’s the point of social media if you can’t fo something positive with it?
