For 10 years, Demaras Racing has spent every weekend from May to October at the race track. Amazing that after all this time we finally found OUR PEOPLE at the Canadian Sport Compact Series.

The CSCS Racing Series is like the Fast & Furious in reality. The events are so fun and full of life, with a wide variety of car crazy stuff packed into each event. Road racing and F1200 is fun, but these CSCS guys are doing car limbo competitions, loudest exhaust battles and eardrum-rupturing, bass-in-your-face, car stereo contests. So many facets of car culture are represented by CSCS events, and that doesn’t even include the on-track activities.
These guys organize Canada’s BIGGEST racing series all summer long. On Sunday September 15 2024 the CSCS will host their Season Finale at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, and it will be the BIGGEST EVENT OF THE YEAR! The actual on-track racing competitions include EXCITING Time Attack, WILD Drift Exhibition and COOLEST Drag Racing.

Come out and join the FUN before the summer ends. It’s the last chance of the season to experience all the craziness of their Patty Eating Contest, Noodle Eating Contest, Fastest Pit Stop Challenge, Stunt Bikes, big Raffle prizes and the BEST ‘Cars & Coffee’ show with 80+ awards handed out.

For anyone in Southern Ontario or Upstate New York, mark your calendars and don’t lose out on the EARLY BIRD SPECIAL before registration goes up.
That does look fun. I wonder if it says anything about the challenges of finding our people if you have been at this for 10 years and just now found them.
When we started kart racing in 2014, it was a tight knit group. We knew nobody outside kart racing and competitors were not encouraged to try different disciplines, because they would leave tkarting (quite lucrative for the track owners).
.
When we moved up to racing cars, our ‘world’ expanded. Tried new disciplines, and met new competitors. But still socially (mostly) stayed within our group of people.
.
Now that weve learned about different series (road racing, Auto-X, time attack) we’ve met people that are a joy to be around like Kevin & Duane from CSCS. They share our family values and our views on the importance of charity.
.
We choose to be with ‘our people’ and have become good friends. Just took a while to find them. And they support our endeavors and never hold us back.
I truly love this for you and your family. We have never found our people. We thought we had a couple times but they were false alarms. I think we looked at church (used to but religion is not a thing for us anymore) as a place where this would/should/could happen. It never did. But no worries. I think it is very cool that you have.
This is going to sound stupid to compare karting to church…but…
.
In those early years, we were convinced kart racing was IT. All our friends were there, it was our social circle and our recreational activity.
.
We had to leave that behind to find our path. To go in new adventures and have new experiences.
Not stupid at all, Chris. Totally makes sense and I identify with the sentiment. We had to leave religion behind to find our path too. And we are! What you are saying makes complete sense!
