First to the Finish—a New Docuseries Focused on the Relentless Pursuit of the MX-5 Cup Championship—Will Premiere March 25 on Prime Video


The little race car that could, the Mazda Miata, is getting its own TV show called ‘First to the Finish‘. The series will follow drivers in the MX-5 Cup racing series, just like the Formula 1 pilots in the Netflix series ” . Yep, Miata racing is getting the ‘Drive to Survive‘.

Shot behind-the-scenes during the 2024 MX-5 Cup championship, the series focuses on three main protagonists. First, there’s Shea Holbrook, the former Pirelli World Challenge and W-Series racer who now runs BSI Racing. Then there’s her two drivers; rookie Sally Mott and sophomore Heather Hadle. The series gives viewers a glimpse of these young racers trying to juggle school and their goals of racing glory.

The MX-5 Cup is an an IMSA sanctioned series, run very professionally, and streamed globally. It gives rookie racers a feel for the ‘big time’ but that also includes cameras (and replays) of every off, spin and crash.

Since its inception in 2006, no woman has ever won the MX-5 Cup championship, and its $250,000 grand prize payout These three fast females will try to make history.

The debut episode of ‘First to the Finish‘ premiers tomorrow (Tuesday, March 25th, 2025) on Amazon Prime Video.
