The Miata Canada Cup returns for the series sophomore season 2025. The CASC sanctioned series features nearly identical Mazda Miata race cars, all prepared to the same formula, ensuring equal competition for all racers. Drivers must rely on their skills and abilities, rather than the raw horsepower of their engines, to compete and win.

The season kicks off with Friday practice at Canadian Tire Motorsports park. Since Saturday morning will see the drivers go directly into a qualifying session, Friday provides a golden opportunity to get the race car dialed in for the track conditions. Miata Cup cars will be the first group out on track at 9:00 am, but will share the track with other closed-wheel cars like Pirelli Super Touring GT cars.

While Miata Cup cars are closed-wheel GT cars, there are separate Miata Canada Cup series races during CASC race weekends. Mazda Miata race cars that comply with the specific rules can also enter the Pirelli Super Touring Championship in GT4/GT5 Class, however the Miata Canada Cup is a special, one-make series offering the most level playing field, and the biggest grids of all the CASC road racing championships.

There has been great interest is the MCC series, and there are currently 25 entries for the first event this weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. On-track action gets underway on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 8:00 am, so set your alarm clock for really early and your GPS for Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, 3233 Concession Rd 10, Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. The Miata Cup cars will be the second group out on track each day.

This weekend is the first round of the 2025 CASC Miata Canada Cup, and the schedule is 3 days of action. Friday is an official practice day, followed by qualifying on Saturday and the final race on Sunday. Open-wheel racer Daniel Demaras will make his sportscar debut in the No. 12 MagiSeal Miata in partnership with front-running Mortimer Racing Group.
