During the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix, multi-time champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing continued to tarnish his reputation with by intentionally slamming into a racing rival. Verstappen was instructed by his team to give back a position he’d advanced by leaving the track., but Mad Max wasn’t having it. He slowed to allow Mercedes-Benz driver George Russell to catch up, then sped up and slammed into him mid-corner.

Verstappen was given a 10-second penalty, dropping him from 4th on track to 10th place finishing position. Adding insult to injury, the winning drivers in the interview room mocked Max’s driving, saying they use the same smash-up tactic in Mario Kart video games.

    1. Me either. I never liked the guy. Ever since that first year when he would race dirty against my all-time favourite driver Kimi Raikkonen. Max would push drivers off track, veer towards them in the braking zone, and basically put other drivers into a position where they had to either back off or crash into him. That’s not racing. And the only reason we haven’t seem more of Max;’s childish behaviour is because he’s been out in front wining races by a mile.
