The original silver and blue R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R from “2 Fast 2 Furious” as driven by Paul Walker in the famous bridge jump scene, has finally been located in Norway. Many enthusiasts thought the iconic movie car, the one that helped shape the automotive dreams of a generation, had been destroyed. The truth couldn’t be any further from reality.

After the poor critical reception of “2 Fast 2 Furious” and its disappointing domestic box office results, this Nissan GT-R was relegated to the back lot of Universal Studios with other movie props. The GT-R was briefly displayed at the Volo Auto Museum in Illinois parked next to the ‘Batmobile‘ and Ghostbusters ‘Ecto-1’ but eventually, the Nissan was sold in 2008. The buyer was a private car collector in Norway; he hardly drove it, never brought it to car shows, but instead displayed it the living room of his house.

Being an older gentleman with no social media footprint, he kept the vehicle hidden away from the public eye. Rumors of the car being located in Europe swirled for years, until the automotive archeologists at Chrome Cars in Germany tracked it down. Apparently it took several years of negotiations until the owner agreed to sell it.
Helping him get it out of the living room was another matter altogether!

During filming in 2023, there was a stunt car and a jump car, but this is one of three ‘hero’ cars driven by Paul Walker, and is likely the only Skyline from “2 Fast 2 Furious” that’s completely original today. Technical advisor to the F&F movies Craig Lieberman validated the authenticity of the Nissan GT-R, right down to the triple stack of NX Nitrous Express bottles (not NOS brand?) in the passenger seat.

The folks at Chrome Cars are ecstatic to now have all four movie cars from “2 Fast 2 Furious” opening race scene re-assembled. The iconic rides include a Toyota Supra Turbo, Mazda RX-7 FD, and Suki’s pink Honda S2000 convertible. And auto enthusiasts can only hope that the extraordinary piece of cinematic history remains on display for some time, rather than being sold to yet another collector. However, considering Han’s orange and black VeilSide Mazda RX-7 from “Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift” recently sold for $1.6 million (Canadian dollars), Chrome Cars might set a record if they ever put this JDM icon on the auction block.
