What better way to start off the week than racing?
In the first race of the season to use the reverse layout at Goodwood, everyone struggled a bit to settle in with the unfamiliar track. After practice, however, it seemed as though the drivers were getting to grips with it.
So of course…it started to rain.
Qualifying was done in monsoon-like conditions, with several drivers spinning off track. Daniel would be starting P2, while mechanical issues with the Honda engine meant Chris would be starting P6.
After hunting down polesitter Ryan Petroff over the course of the first lap, Daniel made an outside pass on the final corner and took the lead. Daniel pulled out a significant lead and went on unchallenged to the checkered flag.
Chris fought in the midfield, however a late race collision put an end to his challenge.
Daniel took his third win of the season and was all smiles as his lead in the points championship was extended. More importantly, friendly competition on track is quickly turning into new friendships off track.
Both Demaras men are looking forward to more racing action in two weeks time.
