Competing at Goodwood Kartways is a blast. In 2018 I managed to get up on the podium four times (including the difficult semi-final race) finishing the season in 14th place (well…tied for 13th) out of 50+ competitors. But a real highlight was an early season win. I qualified second, made the pass for the lead, and almost blew it on the last lap by celebrating too early!

I also enjoyed racing at K1 Speed, where I had opportunities to share the track with my son. K1 Speed is more about individual effort and improvement. I finally managed to set a 23 second  lap, and ended the year in 6th place in the K1RS Leaderboard.

What I enjoyed most about racing in 2018 is that it afforded me the opportunity to spend time with my kids in a fun and competitive environment, where I could watch them develop and mature.

Not quite sure what 2019 has in the cards, but 2018 was a great year. Michelle got her first taste of motorsports, Daniel continued to advance to tougher levels of racing, and improved my skills with personal best results. I’d say it was a good year.
