A quick search of YouTube will find all kinds of videos on Formula Vee / Formula 1200. Some are races from this year, and others, like this gem from Periscope Films, date back more than 50 years.
The look of the cars is the same, and the classic VW Beetle as a pace car makes sense. But seeing drivers with open-face helmets and goggles is surprising. That seems like something long gone by 1970. But the ‘crew chief’ standing in pit lane wearing a sundress and no safety gear at all is downright worrying.
