Canada’s greatest living racecar driver, Jacques Villeneuve, the Indy 500 winner (1995), CART Indy Car Series Champion (1995) and Formula 1 World Champion (1997) can now add Daytona 500 qualifier to his diverse racing resume.

Since those high points in his open-wheel racing career, Villeneuve has kept busy by competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2007-2008), FIA World Rallycross Championship (2014), FIA Formula E (2015-2016), NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Cup (2019-2021) and last year launched his own brand of racing kart, the JV Kart. But, he has never competed in NASCAR’s biggest race, after a DNQ 14 years ago.

On Sunday February 20th 2022, 50 year-old Villeneuve will drive the No. 27 Hezeberg Engineering Systems Ford Mustang in the 64th running of the Daytona 500, the “Great American Race“.
