Back in 2011, Power had a freak-out rarely seen in professional motorsports. During an oval track at Loudon, New Hampshire, IndyCar officials decided to throw the green flag despite rain falling. The result was a spin by Danica Patrick, which took out Power, and triggered a 10-car pileup. After climbing out of his wrecked car unscathed, Power was furious that his championship run was ruined.



He drove home the point by giving the finger (the ‘double-bird‘ to be precise) to IndyCar series officials, live on TV. The Australian driver was fined USD $30,000 and put on probation for the rest of the 2011 IndyCar season.



And now in 2022, Will Power is one of the most respected veterans of the IndyCar Series, a completely changed individual form the madman from Toowoomba.
