Sometimes your engine just blows up. Too much turbo-boost, revved too high, spun bearing, rod knock, overheated…whatever. A mechanical failure. Turn-of-the-century WRXs are not exactly known for dependability; the blown head gasket is a Subaru stereotype. Without pointing the finger of blame, let’s just say the EJ20 in Daniel’s WRX will rumble no more.
The good news is that Can Jam Motorsports has already pulled the tired old 2.0L engine from the WRX and is now preparing a brand new EJ257. This is a 2.5L engine installed in the newer WRX STi models comes with forged internals, a bigger turbocharger and other go-fast parts. And there are zero miles on it. New in the box.
When life gives you lemons, throw a whole bunch of time and money at them and make turbocharged lemonade. Of course it’s worth it!
Turbocharged lemonade would be awesome?
That sounds like the new “drink sensation thats sweeping the nation”.

Turbocharged Lemonade
It’s what we all need to keep us going
Ooh what a pretty pretty engine.
Shiny and new. It’ll be a 2003 Subaru with 0 km on it.
I have a friend that every time he sees a brand new, performance part he says: “I wanna hug and kiss it”. That exactly how I felt when I saw the pictures of your new engine.
Isn’t it GORGEOUS, Rubens? All shiny and new. No oil or grease or soot. Just beautiful aluminum as far as the eye can see.

Then look at the filthy engine bay!
