The image of the green and yellow No. 12 MagiSeal Formula 1200 car will always be remembered as the 2023 championship winning car. If there was a Demaras Museum, the car would be on display. But we did the next best thing by erasing it from existence.

Or, a new paint job is another way of saying it. Here’s a rare image of Chris Demaras working on something (other than his wife’s nerves).

Two years worth of sun fading and rock chips did a number on the green machine. Plus, there’s some new sponsors coming on this season, so it was time for an overall new look.

Daniel spent a solid 4 hours at CARSTAR peeling away the memories. What made it extra interesting was the 1973 Mustang convertible tucked beside the race car.

Next step will be to drill out the Dzus fasteners, patch up the cracks in the fiberglass, and see what creative ideas C17 Media has come up with for the 2024 racing season.!

  1. Excuse me, I’d like to apply to be a decal peeler. That seems like the same type of satisfaction one gets removing wallpaper (which is to say, deep and profound). Ooh, I noticed the mustang too. What a fine car.

    1. Good gosh, some of those stickers were so melted on (the ones close to the engine) that even the heat gun didn’t help.

It started off fun, like bubble wrap popping, but after a couple hours… oh boy.

How cool that there was a classic car randomly parked next to the race car! That body shop is always interesting.

      1. Oh, that’s exactly how peeling wallpaper is. Starts off fun and then turns to a hellish job to finish with all the little bits and pieces. Looks like you got all the pieces off eventually! Probably another metaphor in there. 🙂 I do love me a good metaphor.
