So, what does a $4,000,000 car look like up close? How good is the fit and finish on an ultra-exclusive, 1 of 100 ever built Pagani Huayra? It’s so good, it will change your perspective on cars.

This is this purple roadster (with removable glass roof) that was in the Pfaff booth at the Auto Show last month. My father Bill and I were dropping on my truck at a shop north of Toronto to get some chip-resistant clear film applied to the newly painted roof.

My dad isn’t a ‘car guy’ but he did take me to my first car show, so he certainly started me on my automotive journey. I’m glad he was with me that day to see this gem up close.

Walking in the back door of the shop, the splatter of Porsches around the room just disappeared as we focused on the crown jewel; the Pagani Huayra Roadster. Its 6.0-liter, V12 engine (from Mercedes-AMG) produces an asphalt-tearing 764 HP easily capable of clocking in the 0 to 60 mph test in 3.1 seconds. And if you can find a racetrack with a long enough straight, the car will reach a top speed of 230 mph.

But sitting in a shop with it’s bonnet open like a flower in bloom, those performance figures mean nothing,. You’re just stunned by the beauty and detail of the machine. The inside of the engine compartment is finished with the same glossy carbon fiber as the exterior. Inside the driver’s compartment, the switches look like jewelry. Not flashy, cheap gold-plated stuff either. Hand carved pieces of aluminum where a normal car would have used plastic, or Ferrari would have chosen carbon fiber. This may be the most beautiful car ever made.

I made a self-deprecating comment to the guys that my truck is bringing down the property value of the shop. But they soothed my ego by saying customized vehicles like my GMC monster truck are what keeps the lights on in the shop. There’s plenty of trucks that need ceramic coating. How many Paganis are going to roll in?

Driving down Hwy 404, heading back to Toronto, my dad scanned the vehicles around us. As he passed a late model BMW, dad commented “These cars don’t look very good anymore. They just look like toasters on wheels.”. Despite not being a big car-guy, pops knew he’d now seen the best of what the automotive world has to offer. And he liked it.

I can’t believe you got to see that beauty close up. I’ve never seen such a gorgeous car. Of course, your truck is probably a close second, right?
I thoight you might like this!

What’s the odds that the ultra-rare car from the auto show would end up in the same shop as my truck!
Does that mean that someone in your vicinity actually owns a pagani? I can’t even believe the luxury of that interior.
Yes ma’am! We got a Richie Rich in the neighborhood.

The interuor really was stunning, and the pictures do not do it justice. The gear shifter is just floating there.
Looks like the instrument panel is made out of polished teak or something. Even the stitching on the seat is above the stratosphere of high quality.
