Never visit Switzerland where the jail sentence for speeding is 1 to 4 years in the clink. That’s the penalty for going 40 km/h (25 mph) over the limit in built-up urban areas. Speeding on public roads is dangerous, can be discouraged by financial penalties, and technologically limited by speed governors. But in Switzerland, they throw people in the slammer.

Swiss speeders can also face a two-year license suspension and then there’s a mandatory psychological test to get licensed again. The threshold for ‘criminal speed’ is different out of town (60 km/h over) and on major highways (80 km/h over). And confiscated cars can be sold or even scrapped as a deterrent. No matter how appealing those roads through the Alps look…don’t even think about it!

No matter how you look at it, they just go to far in Switzerland! Why would any God-fearing, freedom-loving motorist ever want to visit such a place. A country that banned motor racing for 65 years (from 1957 until 2022) for public safety concerns. The Swiss seem to really overdo it.
I’d be in so much trouble here. 🤣
Look at those lovely mountain roads. Almost begging you to push the gas pedal a little harder.
Nothing and no one has to beg me to always go faster. 😉
