This weekend was the Iowa Corn 250 race, and IndyCar driver Will Power shocked the racing nation by starting 22nd and finishing 1st thanks to some incredible strategy and pit-lane performances by his crew. It was really a display of teamwork to get the No. 12 into winner’s circle for a second time this season. His prize was a lovely green tractor. Remember… Iowa is corn country.

At 42-years-old, double-champion Power is undoubtedly in the twilight of his career, yet he’s still winning and even accumulating records at this point. Power’s 43rd IndyCar victory today puts him 4th on the All-Time Wins list, just ahead of Michael Andretti and behind legendary Mario Andretti.

After a tough 2023 season, Power has now won twice in 2024, and this win at Iowa Speedway was his first oval-track victory since Pocono in 2019, a race the Demaras family were lucky enough to attend.

Will Power has long been our racing family’s favourite driver, and served as inspiration for young Daniel Demaras, who started racing under the No. 12 in honour of his racing hero.

This coming weekend is the lone Canadian race in the IndyCar season, and Power sits second in the championship standings heading to Toronto. Once again, the Demaras family will be in the grandstands cheering for Will Power,, one of the greatest racers of all time, and a genuinely inspirational guy.

Go Will Power!
