Today, Sunday August 11th 2024, is “OBLIVION VI the 80s & 90s car and culture show. This will be one of the biggest car shows in Canada, and certainly the most unique one with a curated field of cars. The main gates will open for ‘vehicle staging’ at 10:00 am

Country Heritage Park
8560 Tremaine Rd,
Milton, ON L9T 2X3

Show cars must have received an ‘approval’ email in advance, and will receive registration cards upon arrival. Show organizers will then move the vehicles into the showgrounds, directing drivers to specifically assigned zones.

Interest in OBLIVION VI is high, and the show is capacity. Therefore show organizers ask that all vehicles remain in position until 4:30 pm when the show ends, and move out begins (in stages). Expect to see Demaras Racing’s vintage 1992 Subaru SVX in the ‘cool kids’ section.

To make OBLIVION VI even more nostalgic, show participants are encouraged to bring their 80s or 90s collectibles and car brochures to display. Next to our retro Subaru will be a vintage 1982 Panasonic RX-5080 ghetto-blaster; if only we still had some tapes to play!

The show organizers are really trying to make this a cool event, and not just another car show with a bunch of old dudes in lawn chairs blocking the view of their retro rides. On that note, lawn chairs are not forbidden, but they’re just not the look the show is going for (unless they too are vintage) but things like tents, canopies are just not Kosher.

And here’s the most interesting tidbit. Since the show is primarily about vintage aesthetics the organizers ask everyone to keep the hood closed while the cars are displayed so spectators can appreciate the edgy 80s or smooth 90s lines of the vintage rides. Cool!

Due to bridge construction north of the park, spectators are advised to avoid entering from north to avoid traffic. Rather, entering the park from Tremaine Rd to the south. For quickest entry from Toronto, just take Hwy 401 westbound and exit at Martin St, then proceed southbound to Steeles Ave West. Drive westbound until Tremaine Rd then head northbound directly into Country Heritage Park.
