Reports on Twitter of cars in China becoming pregnant may have been blown out of proportion.

The North American automotive industry giggled themselves senseless when online rumours started circulating about Made-in-China cars becoming visibly ‘pregnant’ on hot days. Seems the cheap materials used to wrap Chinese vehicles simply cannot withstand high temperatures, and blow up like a balloon as the heated air expands.

Turns out the viral video is all just a hoax. One of the most common ways to remove a wrap is to shoot compressed air under a corner of the film, causing to to separate from the surface and inflate dramatically. It’s just a trick installers use.
