This weekend, Race Lab will hold an event at a special secret GTA-area location for only the second time ever. Earlier this summer, an invitation-only event held at the new Extreme Driving Park just north of Toronto.

Both drivers from Demaras Racing got the chance to sample the challenging, technical track through the gavel. Completely different than Millhaven or the Crazy Farm, this circuit really tested man and machine.

Chris was up first in the silver Impreza with Mike H. his instructor, who made it exceedingly clear that taking the downhill section (picture below) at more than walking speed would remove the front bumper. Yikes!

Next up was Daniel in the sinister black car with orange wheels. Daniel’s instructor was downright CRAZY and showed the young F1200 pilot how to slide the car sideways in a display of controlled chaos.

Several drivers brought their own vehicle, including this rally-prepped, street-legal 2005 Subaru WRX STi. This seemed to be a shakedown drive for the Black Bear Rally, making sure the 20+ year old car was ready for tough competition.

The layout of the rallycross course was difficult, but there was so much run-off area that there was never any concern for damaging the vehicle. It’s the ideal location to learn to drive rallycross, and it’s just a few minutes north of Toronto.

If interested, there’s another Race Lab event this weekend, so give them a call at (416) 477-2130 or by email at hi@racelab.co to see if there’s still space available.
