The fat-fender, red pickup truck has become a modern symbol of traditional Christmas. Sometimes depicted as a Ford or a Dodge, it’s always a step-side pickup painted in almost a red-oxide colour. It evokes memories of driving out to chop down a tree to bring home for the holidays.

This year, the Santa in our front yard got a new truck from Canadian Tire. He looks quite jolly and seems to enjoy horsepower even more than reindeer power.

It’s a little early, but Merry Christmas to all!
