7-Eleven is rolling out a new advertising campaign that captures the energy and lifestyle of its most devoted 7-Eleven customers. To recognize 7-Eleven as a cultural pit stop for generations ‘Roll-Up & Refuel‘ offers an authentic look into the lives of the car enthusiasts subculture.

For the past several years, there’s ben a trend in the car community of gearheads taking pics of their cars at the local 7-Eleven from Toronto to Tokyo the trend really took off, and the company jumped all over it. Each week, the 7-Eleven company chooses the best of the hundreds of photos sent in by the public, and posts it on their official Insta page.

Larry Chen is a well known photographer of JDM car culture, and he was involved in producing the 7-Eleven commercial. If you didn’t get enough classic Japanese cars in the 30 second commercial, here’s a 30 minute behind the scenes video of how the commercial was made.

    1. These marketing guys are so smart.

Every small town in ‘Merica has a 7-Eleven and it’s the nightly meeting point for gearheads to plan an illegal street race or just to hang out. Instead of chasing the kids away, 7-Eleven has embraced them.
      .
Those kids likely have money in their pockets for Big Gulps too! Smart not to chase them away just because they drive noisy cars with loud stereos.

      1. I know and all the land around my place is gated from off road vehicles, as many kids learned to drive on, now old RR beds are used for walkers and bicycles. Hardly any hunters or any open land except for land trust property with so many rules for us but not those getting funding from the government or our town taxes.

      2. We’re in Canada, but we also keep a close eye on California, and the way car culture is developing down there. Seems that street takeovers have become a real problem, and no matter how much the local government increases fines, that stuff means nothing to a guy hooning a car in the middle of an intersection.

But I did read about one city councillor who floated the idea of letting young gearheads run wild in the parking lot of the many football stadiums. Prescribed days, enhanced safety, etc.

Different neighbourhood than you or I, but the same problem. And a creative solution that will NEVER get approved. Too bad.

      3. It is sad but on our 55mph roads since covid, we have idiots riding wheelies down the interstate and too many to mention speeding, not 10 or 15 over but in a 65mph zone doing 100 mph or more.
