In one week, the 3rd annual ‘Subie Showdown’ car show takes place at the Orangeville Fairgrounds, an hour north-west of Toronto. It is the largest Subaru-exclusive event in Ontario, and features a variety of activities including custom car displays, competitions, and performance parts vendor booths.

The event is the brainchild of Marcello Nalli and from the Subie Sanctuary, a garage specializing in restorations of Subarus. They’ve helped create some of the wildest Subaru vehicles in Ontario, and their Subie Showdown is an opportunity for owners to show off their rides. Hundreds of show cars and thousands of spectators are expected this year.

Demaras Racing will be at the show with our dark teal metallic, mild custom 1992 Subaru SVX on air-suspension with some new ‘synthwave‘ style visual enhancements. Will it win “Best Old-School Subaru”? The competition will be tough, so fingers crossed!

    1. I’ve been making so many changes, fixes and enhancements to the car. Keeping it quiet too so it’s a surprise at the show.

But in truth, an award / trophy would give meaning to my life (for a couple days).

      1. I hear you on trophies. When I was promoting bicycle racing in the 80s and 90s, we all got tired of collecting trophies, so I started giving winners cash instead of trophies.

      2. I just want to create a one-of-a-kind version of a very rare car. Something my 18 year old self would have been proud of.

Should be ready by next Friday.
