Another connection between racing, cars and Christmas; here’s the official animated video for “Jingle Bell Rock” showing a very biker-looking Santa Claus competing in the the 999th annual Jingle Bell Race in his rocket-powered sleigh.
The Christmas classic by Bobby Helms was released on Decca Records in October 1957 peaking at No. 6 on the Billboard charts that year. In the decades since, the nostalgic sound gets heavy radio airplay every holiday season.

Santa looks very much like a mean biker to me in this video. But it was a good win.

I guess that many of these classic Christmas tunes were from the 50s and 60s , so that mid-century, space-age aesthetic really fits.
