It’s hard not to feel nostalgic on the last day of the year. Thinking back on challenges faced, and accomplishments achieved. Here’s a look back at 2025 for Demaras Racing.

The biggest motoring news of the year for Michelle was starting the long process of becoming a licensed driver. In Ontario, there’s a three step graduated licensing system that takes 18 to 24 months to work through. Young Michelle passed her written test with ease, and now has her G1 Driver’s License allowing her to drive with an experienced motorist in the passenger’s seat. Having completed 10 hours of in-car lessons, Demaras will soon be taking her G2 driver’s test, which will allow more driving freedom, with limitations. Acquiring her full “G” drivers license is the goal for 2026, and plans are already underway to acquire a vintage Subaru BRAT for the young driver.

While always very supportive of Demaras Racing’s endeavours, Alice has never been a ‘car-girl’. For years, she drove a tricked out Subaru WRX without ever getting caught by the cops. They would hear the rumble of the exhaust, but behind the wheel was a mom on the way to work… probably in her teenaged boy’s car. But the bright orange paint and racing stripes on her turbocharged Mini Cooper S caught the eye of the speed cameras, finally earning Alice her first speeding ticket. It’s been framed and is proudly displayed.

The move from open-wheel to closed-cockpit ‘endurance racing’ was a huge step for Daniel. But he rose to the challenge with his new team, DriveTeq Racing. The BMW 128i Daniel now races is so much more powerful than the Formula 1200 race cars he raced for the past 3 seasons. It’s also bigger, heavier and more technologically sophisticated. Working with a variety of co-drivers over the season, Daniel stood on the top step of the podium with two big race wins at Mosport and Shannonville. Now, with a year of experience, Daniel hopes to challenge for a championship in 2026 and possibly take an opportunity to race internationally in the northeastern United States.

Outside of the racetrack, Chris competed in the car-show circuit with his Synthwave SVX. His retro ride was entered into multiple competitions and took home a trophy from the ‘Subie Showdown‘ plus title Lowest Of The Low at ‘JDM Expo‘. A big accomplishment in 2025 was organizing the Fast Film Fest, which included private screenings of the F&F series of movies. The fun event for gearheads on Sunday nights brought in just shy of $2K in donations to ROWW, the charity founded by Paul Walker from those F&F movies. In 2026 Chris plans an even bigger F&F movie night at the local drive-in theatre.

Enough with this nostalgia; no point looking back too long. We’re looking ahead to a brighter 2026 with new heights to reach.
