Old-timer Albino Carreira is selling his 1993 Plymouth Voyager minivan. Anyone from outside the GTA might not recognize the name, but this 81-year-old is Toronto Famous for covering his daily-driver in thousands of seashells.

Carreira is getting up there in years, and last year the Ministry of Transportation decided not to renew his license due to his diminishing health and eyesight. No longer able to cruise in the famous car, it’s been put up for sale on Facebook Marketplace for $12,345 and Carreira is hoping it ends up in a museum.

Apparently, Albino initially started decorating the minivan with little plastic bugs he bought at the dollar store. Later we switched to action figures, and for the past decade, it’s been seashells. The original owner of the Plymouth is homebound due to an injury, but clearly had a lot of creativity and craftsmanship left in him.

hopefully someone gives the old guy a couple grand for the van. A 30+ year-old minivan is pretty much worthless, and this vehicle just isn’t important enough to be put in a museum. You almost feel bad for the guy, thinking that his hobby just isn’t of value to anybody else.
😳
Imagine how much this thing weighs. Imagine getting into a fender-bender with it! Think of the damage it would cause to a pedestrian with all those ‘things’ sticking out.
A disaster waiting to happen, and I’m amazed it’s even insured.
It’s hideous yet interesting lol
You are too kind. If you want to see hideous, look up the dude’s house in Toronto. The neighbours must HATE him.
I just see the bedazzled and beweled garage lol
*bejeweled

That’s INSANE!!!
I almost get the feeling this retired construction worker was actually an artist. It’s just he media that are weird.
Yeah like this goes a little deeper than “i have this hobby i do in my spare time”
Not to bring down the mood, but the old-timer fell off some scaffolding decades ago, cracked his head open, and couldn’t return to work. He channeled his creativity and strong Portuguese work ethic into… this stuff.
He had no outlet for his energies, but still had a lot of stuff to give.
Yeah i read that, very interesting 🧐
