Something like 50cm of snow fell in Toronto on Sunday afternoon. By evening, the neighbors were out shoveling, snow-blowing and pushing cars down the street. Took maybe an hour, then the world was back to normal. For Canadians this kind of snowstorm is really a non-event.

Canadians are indoctrinated into ‘the way of snow’ early in life. For example, all Canadian kids are required to watch this CBC short about driving in Montreal (filmed in the early ’60s) while a classic tune “Maudit Hiver” plays in the background.
Yes… that translates to ‘damn winter’.
You got a little snow, I see.
Yeah… but it was just a little.
That’s a good little dump of snow!
Yeah…only YOU would call that ‘little’!
It’s good for you guys lol, keep you on your toes!
You know, I feel even more Canadian after the snowstorm. I didn’t call in the army. I just grabbed my shovel and dug out.
Yeah wow where’s the armed forces?!
