2017 marks a very special anniversary for motorsport in Canada. It’s been 50 years since the inaugural Canadian Grand Prix for Formula 1.
The race was held in late 1967 (the year of Canada’s centennial) the first F1 race was held at Mosport, now known as Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (CTMP). It was a major international motorsports event, which included iconic drivers such as Jim Clarke, Graham Hill, Jochen Rindt and Jack Brabham.

The race location alternated between Mosport and Mont-Tremblant in Quebec, before taking it’s current form at the Ile Notre-Dame in Montreal.
This weekend, vintage Formula 1 machinery will return to Mosport for the first time since 1977.
