The racing outdoor kart racing season in Ontario has come to an end. The annual awards banquet gives racers competing at Goodwood Kartways and Mosport Kartways a chance to cap the year in style. Several drivers were recognized for their excellent performance throughout the year on the track.

Daniel was recognized for achieving a 2nd place finish in the Monday CRKC Championship.

Alice, Michelle, Daniel and Chris Demaras all attended the event. One of the best things about the awards banquet is just getting a chance to see old friends one last time, away from the track, before saying goodbye until next season.

Several friends were also recognized for their achievements, including Stefano Picerno, Don Powell, Nathan Powell and of course, Mr Nico Hines.

While not an official award, Nico clearly took the prize for Best Dressed Racer at Goodwood Kartways.

Back to the awards, Daniel also took home the 3rd place trophy for the Wednesday CRKC Championship.

As for Chris Demaras, there was no trophy. While Chris took an early win, and multiple podium finishes, the championship was just out of reach. However, as consolation, Chris won a Briggs & Stratton power washer during the prize raffles!

Demaras will be running a Briggs & Stratton snow blower all winter, to keep in practice for next spring, when he’ll again wrench on Daniel’s Briggs & Stratton LO206 race engine, as Daniel competes in another year of competitive kart racing.
