To say that the Demaras family are big fans of Scuderia Ferrari is an understatement. When Michelle and Daniel were little, there was always an Alonzo Bear in their bedrooms and Ferrari Booster Seat in the back of the family station wagon.

For Daniel, visiting the Auto Show meant a chance to see Maranello’s finest creations in person. But, being a Ferrari fan has been difficult since Kimi Raikkonen’s 2007 Championship, with no WDC titles, and the last win being 2 years ago at the 2019 Singapore Grand Prix.

But this weekend, the sound of the Italian national anthem played at the Bahrain Grand Prix as Ferrari finished 1st and 2nd, with No. 16 Charles Leclerc taking the checkered flag followed closely by teammate No. 55 Carlos Sainz.

After two long, winless seasons, the red team was back on top in Formula 1 this weekend. Somewhere in the east end of Toronto, a family hummed along with a tune that, to us, means victory.

It was really refreshing to see Ferrari going strong and winning again, it feels like the good old times!!! I got so bored with years of Mercedes dominance that I have abandoned F-One completely. Maybe it is time to go back now.
Agreed. When one team dominates F1, it is not good for racing fans. What’s been especially horribly about the Mercedes era has been the fact that they’re so disingenuous. Always pretending that the car is slow in pre-season testing, only to destroy the competition at the opening round in Australia.
