
Fernando Alonso is often characterized as a serious competitor. In a Motorsport.com interview he was even quoted saying “…I need to kill whatever strengths other people have. But this I do in everything I practice, when I play anything…”. But in reality, he’s also a nice guy. Sensing that maybe he went too far by calling Lewis Hamilton an idiot after their collision at Spa-Francorchamps, Alonso apologized to Hamilton in person, and was spotted leaving the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team motorhome with a souvenir black cap, signed with a note from Lewis that read, “To Fernando“.
