Mario Andretti has done it all. He won the 1967 Daytona 500, the 1969 Indianapolis 500, and the 1978 Formula 1 World Championship. Now 82, one would assume his driving days are behind him. But during the pre-race show at this year’s Miami Grand Prix, Andretti torpedoed McLaren CEO Zac Brown (live on TV) asking if he could drive McLaren F1 car. Brown said he’s make it happen, and this weekend at COTA… it happened.

After Andretti’s laps, RACER caught up with him, and the former racing champion gave an interesting interview, complaining of his helmet blocking his view of the steering wheel readouts, preventing him from setting quicker lap times!.
