Formula 1200 racer Daniel Demaras will make the switch from the road-course to the banked-oval at Sunset Speedway on Saturday, July 15th 2023. This will mark Demaras first competition in a stock car. The event will feature Modifieds, Mini Stocks, Jr Late Models, Legends Cars and, the highlight of the night, a 20 lap ‘Bone-Stock’ race with Daniel Demaras driving the No. 9 SKLD Motorsports Acura Integra.

With a year and a half of road racing experience, Daniel knows his way around Mosport, Cayuga, Shannonville and Calabogie. But his only experience on the oval is a single lap in the King of the Hill spectator drags in the No. 16 Miata, and some practice days with SKLD.

No stranger to closed-wheel race cars, in October 2020, Demaras was fortunate enough to test the NASCAR Pinty’s Series car of Anthony Simone (the owner of Daniel’s old kart racing team New Speed Motorsports) at Shannonville.

The 1999 Acura Integra may not be as quick as the 525 HP, 3,050 lbs, tube-framed, V8 powered Dodge. But there will be a lot more traffic to contend with on the 1/3 mile banked oval.
