It’s been more than 10 years since the most extreme incident of Crazy Leo’s racing career. At the 2012 Rally Perce-Neige, the car went ‘off’ at 225 km/h and hit a hydro pole. Everyone expected the car to be destroyed, but driver Leo Urlichich and co-driver Carl Williamson kept going, and actually managed to finish second in the rally.
The above video has racked up 1.5 million views, and is still as unbelievable to see it today as it was the moment it occurred. Below is an event recap by Leo himself, explaining how the incident unfolded.
In the years since, Crazy Leo went on to win many races, and the Canadian Rally Championship twice. His most impressive endeavour was establishing Race Lab. Where else in the world can a member of public experience rally/racing school with a top-level driver for only a couple bucks?

Win a Rally Car Adventure courtesy of Race Lab! Compete in the RALLY AGAINST HUNGER charity go-kart race at K1 Speed on Sunday December 3rd 2023 in support of the Daily Bread Food Bank.
