Racing season is really short in Canada; May to October for some, but summer holidays for students is only half of that. So motoring enthusiasts must plan their weekends out well in advance. Demaras Racing committed to running the No. 12 Can-Jam Motorsports Formula 1200 car in 2024, so that precluded attending CSCS Round 3 or the Toronto Subaru Club’s HYPERMEET with our sponsor Can-Jam Motorsports.

Let’s catch up with how their summer is going!

July 20-21 2024 – CSCS ROUND 3

After Round 1 at the Mosport DDT just east of Toronto, and Round 2 at Cayuga just west of Toronto, CSCS Racing took it’s travelling road show all the way to the Grand Bend Motorplex on the shores of Lake Huron.

The creative minds at CSCS billed the event as Beach Campfest and encouraged racers to stay at the track overnight. Beyond their traditional drift, time attack and drag racing, CSCS lit up the night sky with a first; Drifting After Dark. Competitors covered their rides with LEDs and the display was unlike anything seen at Grand Bend before. When the day’s activities were over, the crew brought out a huge projector and screened ‘The Fast and The Furious‘ for the assembled gearheads.

July 28 2024 – HYPERMEET

One week and 300 km from Grand Bend, Can-Jam Motorsports brought out all the stops for the Toronto Subaru Club’s HYPERMEET ’24 which is the first one in …years. Finally the excuses about pandemics and such disappeared and the car show returned to Subaru of Canada’s head office in the Toronto suburb of Mississauga.

Honoured to be part of HYPERMEET again after such a long hiatus, Can-Jam Motorsports did something really big. During the event, they raffled off a brand new OEM Subaru WRX STi EJ25 Shortblock valued at $3,350! Raffle tickets were sold all day long, with 100% of the proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House charities.

This really shows the generosity the Can-Jam guys have in their hearts.

And here we are…only two weeks later and CSCS is back at it again! This Sunday is Round 4 of the Canadian Sport Compact Series at Calabogie Motorsports Park just outside of Ottawa. Some even call the long track “Canada’s Nordschleife‘!

Make sure to check out Canada’s Biggest Time Attack, Drifting and Cars & Coffee series if you’re near the nation’s capital!
