After a complete rebuild over the winter, Friday May 3rd was the first time the No. 12 had been out on track in 2024. Engine, transmission, suspension; everything has been refreshed and renewed.

Along with a sticker set of Falken Azenis RT615K tires, the most obvious change the the No. 12 is the pearlescent World Rally Blue paint, just like old Subaru rally cars. The No. 12 Can-Jam Motorsports F1200 has a great new sponsor in the Thornhill-based Subaru specialty shop. but CARSTAR and C17 Media also helped get the car ready for the season.

Bill Vallis, Bill Davis and Monsieur Ives from Montreal checked the No. 12 over before sending Daniel out on track. With a fresh rebuild, the instruction were to keep the speed down during the first session.

Between sessions, Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee (and Formula 1200 guru) Bill Vallis checked over the cars vital signs. With two 35-minute practice sessions before lunch, and three more afterwards, there was plenty of time for Demaras to shake off any cobwebs.

In the paddock was an interesting mix of Subaru models including a 1st generation Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS, a 3rd generation WRX hatchback, and even a right-hand-drive Subaru Sambar minivan from Japan. Of course, Demaras Racing’s WRX was at the track, posing for pictures.

On the way out on track for the last session of the day, Daniel cruised his No. 12 F1200 race car past his Bugeye daily driver just slow enough for a great photo. So cool to have both cars at the track together.

Saturday was an early start, with a 7:45 AM drivers meeting, so the team wrapped up early on Friday for the long trek home.
The car looks fantastic, and Daniel’s helmet completes the livery.
Good luck to team Demaras in this 2024 season; a fast car and a talented driver you guys have already.
Thanks Rubens! You’re always such a positive, upbeat and supportive guy.

That pearl blue paint does look good on track, and I bet the Subaru enthusiast community will like the car.
Cool cool cool! Did something change with your blog? I didn’t see this post in the reader yesterday and the header says 0 posts or something and 79 subscribers, neither of which is accurate i don’t think
I think that WP was updating / upgrading some code yesterday. I noticed some icon changes and other weird behavior.
.
But also, yesterday was the first time in over a thousand days that I didn’t finish an article. So I backdated it.
.
And http://www.demaras.com has less than 100 followers, but over 150,000 views.
I love following your blog. It has opened up an entire new world to me. That thing about pit stops really blew my mind.
Ha! The funny thing is that everyone around me (friends, family, etc.) absolutely LIVE on racing. They follow it, do it, love it.
.
I’m really glad that you enjoy the website, even though it’s totally outside your wheelhouse.
A thousand days! That is a noteworthy streak! WordPress tells
me I’m at 100 days today but something got messed up along the way and the real number is over 200.
You can fix that streak. There’s a spot on the WP app or website that shows a calendar. Every time you posted there’s a blue dot.
Just look for the day the dot is missing, backdate a post (even a blank one, HA!) and the next time you post, your streak will be updated.
Chris, you are a blogging wonder. Going to fix it now! A streak is a streak!
As you should!
.
If you already know this next part, bear with me. On the website (not mobile app) go to the STATS page then click on INSIGHTS. Scroll down a little and there’s a calendar.
.
See which day you missed. I bet you $5 that it was the day of a time change (spring forward, fall behind).
OK you magic man. The calendar now shows a post since I dated it january 30. You may send your five dollars via carrier pigeon to my home address. I will be waiting for tomorrow with bated breath to see if the streak is fixed!
That looks like a winner, to me!
