Subaru Canada may have given up on motorsports, but there are plenty in the enthusiast community who are still committed. A Subaru specialist shop in the GTA has just completed the transformation of Demaras Racing’s stock WRX into something completely unique.
Gone is the stock 2.0L replaced by a larger displacement 2.5 L engine. The brand new block is an all-aluminum EJ257 with forged internals. This is the same spec as the coveted 2018 Subaru WRX STi Type RA so named for the company’s ‘record attempt’ at the Nurburgring. Additionally, a VF48 turbocharger and intercooler from an STi model have been added. .The Bugeye is faster and more powerful than the day it rolled off the assembly line in Japan two decades ago.
To publicize the new racing partnership, an all-new Subaru 555 Rally Team inspired livery is in the works for the No. 12 F1200 car. The 555 cigarette sponsor will be replaced with the name of the speed shop that’s helping to finance Daniel’s 2024 racing season.
The car will be new yet classic, and instantly recognizable.
The starting point for the new livery will be a base coat of World Rally Blue paint, intrinsically tied to flat-four powered race cars. Then, hi-viz yellow stripes and decals will promote the new sponsors, and tie together Demaras Racing’s road car and race car.
Hoping i am using the word correctly, the livery for the new car is gorgeous. My little hatchback is “galactic aqua mica” and is one of the prettiest car colors i have ever seen. Very cool your car shop will be one of the sponsors, esp in place of a cigarette (my opinion only). Great post AS USUAL

And our ehole family is extratic that a car shop (heck…a proper race shop) is going to sponsor us. And it all started by working together on a charity project in December called RALLY AGAINST HUNGER. That really brought us together.

We’ll steal the cool lookkng cigarette advertising and replace it with the sponsors name. Ties in the new F1200 race car livery with Subaru’s historic livery back when they won World Championships in rally racing.

P.S. Galactic aqua mica sounds like a premium flavour of Gelato. Does it look like teal… dark teal… on your car?
It’s a dark navy blue with sparkly flecks throughout, hence the mica in the name, I think.
