CSCS events are a combination of time attack, drag racing and drifting. But the biggest aspect of the show in undoubtedly the ‘show and shine’.

At the Season Finale last Sunday more than 1,000 care entered the car show. Some were rare Japanese classics. Others were high-dollar customs. Everything was fruity coloured and shiny…like the Fast & Furious come to life.

Although ‘sport compacts’ are a big part of CSCS Racing, there were a variety of vehicles on display. Plenty of late-model Subaru WRXs, but also shown were the Camaro SS, vintage Honda Prelude, Nissan, BRZ and one purple Pontiac Fiero.

On a positive note, there was no Euro vs JDM beef. If your car was purple, slammed and cambered, you were automatically one of the gang.

Subaru was well represented with both recreations of the classic Team Subaru 555 WRC cars from the 90s and of course the No. 12 Can-Jam Motorsports F1200 car looking stunning in World Rally Blue.

High-dollar cars at the show included a RWB Porsche 911, right-hand drive Toyota Soarer available in Japan only, and a heavily modified Mazda RX7 FD. These cars were all from one crew and drew a lot of attention at the CSCS event.

American muscle was also represented by Chevy Corvettes, Monte Carlos and Camaros. There was even an old farm truck with what was either military green paint, or moss growing on the body.

As the sun began to set, awards were handed out, and Demaras Racing’s 1992 Subaru SVX took home a SONAX Shine Award which brought great joy. Nothing like new hardware to add to the trophy case.

That was the Season Finale at for CSCS Racing in 2024, and it certainly ended on a high note. Can’t wait until next season!
