At Round 2 of the CSCS Racing series in June, a new winner was selected for the Gearheads Giving Back charity raffle in support of SickKids Hospital. This time it was Allen from the KA0TIc car club.

Allen and his pal arrived at Toronto Motorsports Park in a blue 2010 Subaru WRX STi wide-body GV sport-sedan, so they were immediately accepted as ‘part of the family’ by Daniel and the other Subaru enthusiasts. The car was strategically parked next to Daniel’s WRX for a cool photo-op.

After a couple of sighter laps in the road cars, Allen strapped on his brain-bucket and jumped into F1200 the race car. The sight of his muppet-like helmet ‘cozy’ got a lot of people staring…but team principal Bill Vallis didn’t look impressed! He’s just too serious for such a thing.

Being the third driver in the No. 12 F1200 car gave Allen a chance to watch the other drivers, but he also got stuck driving on a greasy track. Seems one of the Hondas dropped some oil on the track; not enough to bring out the red flag, but enough to make some corners treacherous.

Despite a couple of spins, the car was not damaged and Allen was all smiles when he hopped out the car. When his bussies teased him about his chaotic session, Allen replied like a real racecar driver: he blamed the car setup, the track conditions and the other drivers.

Well done, sir! Just like the pros.
