Filming of the next Fast & Furious film has definitely started.
Vin Diesel posted this image on Instagram, showing a blue 1966 Plymouth GTX and the grey 1970 Chevelle SS he drove in the 2009 installment. Some co-stars in the upcoming Fast X: Part 2 say there isn’t even a script yet, but apparently that doesn’t stop the filmmakers from getting some exterior shots with dope rides.
The actor commented filming brought back beautiful memories of the first movie, 23 years ago. Hopefully this means the series will move back to its street racing roots that made the series so popular among fans.

How many Fast and Furious movies are there? I saw the first one.
This one will be #11, if you don’t count the two short films (<15 mins).
Wow! I had no idea.
Some of us lunatics have seen every one of these movies… on opening night!
.
Heck, I remember taking a pretty girl to the drive-in movies to watch the first F&F and I enjoyed the movie SO MUCH that I married the girl. Still with her now.
That sounds like Fast and Furious. Did you actually see any of the movie?
Sadly, I saw the ENTIRE movie. I was lucky to get a second date after that.
.
But it was like seeing ‘my people’ on that screen. She just had to understand.
“Oh, what a lucky man you are!” Do you know “Lucky Man” by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer? I made a parody video called “Frumpy Man” that you might enjoy: https://wp.me/p1yQyy-6Dm
Goodness, you’re on e of those ‘creative types’ aren’t you?!
.
And that shirt totally had me fooled (for a minute). I thought to myself what impressive abs for a grey-beard!
Love the chevelle! A very nice boy took me to homecoming in one.
Oh the good old days. I keep wishing that Chevy makes a modern version of these classic machines.
Seems like a great idea!
Yeah, but I think they tried it shortly after the turn of the century and made cars like the Chrysler PT Cruiser and Chevy HHR and Chevy SSR and they just didn’t sell well.
.
But I know what was missing:
.
Chrome bumpers
Makes complete sense. I remember seeing a PT Cruiser at a car show (!) and I thought it was a really cool car. Instead we bought our first Toyota, the Good Egg. First and best of all that we have driven so far.
Funny how these things age.
.
They sold 1.3 million PT Cruisers worldwide, so it was insanely popular… yet the car community never loved or appreciated these. Front engine, front drive, four cylinder; it was a librarians car.
.
The Previa on the other hand has a cult following in Japan (and the US/Canada to a smaller degree). Wild styling, mid-engine, rear wheel drive or all-wheel-drive…what wasn’t there to love!
.
And the center row of seats swiveled 180°. It was great fun for the kids — like riding on a train.
So you mean that you (as the driver) could be left alone to concentrate in the front row, and the middle row of seats can turn and face the rear-most seats?
.
I’d put up one of those Lexan taxicab shields right behind me and my role as the train conductor to a new level.
.
P.S. Wow, you have taught me so much about Toyotas! I always hated them because everybody in Toronto bought boring beige Camrys for so many years.
Not a bad idea to put up a shield! Oh and speaking of Toyota. Greg said that anime is to celebrate the resurrection of the celica and the supra. That new supra is SO cool.
I wat hed the entire GRIP anime in kne sitting. Totally impressive bit of advertising.
So smart to make them a minute long.
