For the past two months, every car meet has been billed as the ‘Season Closer‘ but with December’s arrival, it might be true this time! After a quick stop for gasoline and caffeine, the 1992 Subaru SVX (and driver) is ready for the cruise to the west side.

The SVX’s dark teal paint looks glamorous under the stark lighting at the 7-Eleven and the colourful signage provides an excellent contrast.
Doesn’t matter; this was just the pre-show.

The pop-up meet was organized by Ontario’s Car Scene and Society.Takeover and was to take place on the top floor of the parking garage at the Erindale GO train station. Protection from the elements, the cavernous space would make exhaust notes echo.

Seems the local police had other ideas. As each car arrived at the GO station, police began issuing tickets for things like modified exhausts and illegal lights. The organizers quickly changed gears and announced the meet would be relocated to nearby Rodeo Drive, which sounds cool, but it’s just a strip mall with an accommodating landlord.
Arriving at the spot, the Christmas cars were on full display… both of them!

Some over-enthusiastic gearheads spoiled it for everyone. Upon their arrival at Rodeo Drive, some fools started popping-off their exhausts and doing burnouts in the parking lot, which was pretty stupid considering the police were parked right in the corner of the lot.
The few civilized gearheads that remained were left alone to have some harmless holiday fun.
Some of the guys that stuck around really late explained that the police had told them they could not could not leave since their driver’s licenses were suspended. So, they waited for friends to drive the Christmas cars home.

The small gathering continued until after midnight. While the children were nestled all snug in their beds, the Subaru SVX was fired up once again to dash across the city until the next meet up, which will surely be the last one of the year.
Driving along with you is like looking through a kaleidoscope
Thanks! Thats the goal. Night time drive with the contrast and saturation on the camera all cranked up to 100. I like the aesthetic. Glad you do too.
There’s been Christmas stuff in the stores here since the end of August, Your gear heads at least wait until Decemeber. I would not have the patience to put lights on my car. Fun videos.
Some of those guys at the meet used duct tape to attach those light strings to their cars. I can only imagine how fun that will be to remkve!
.
I dont have the patience for that, but Ill do some decorating today.
Our CAD operator has her Toyota Corolla duct-taped together. My type of woman. If I did that, my wife would complain to no end, accusing me of becoming like Red Green. Truth is, I use duct tape to put a lot of stuff back together.
Hey Im not against duct tape! My only three wishes in my letter to Santa were zip ties, duct tape and WD-40.
.
But imagine having to remove duct tape you put all over your car (for Christmas lights). I bet some paint js coming with it.
I’m sure some paint comes up with it.
